men and women are the constituents of the human society on an equal footing. The vehicle of life is running only on their two wheels. For the prosperity of individual life and collective life and for the success of both the herein as well as of the hereafter, the education and a proper upbringing of the individuals is quite unavoidable. It is neither to be ignored nor to be deferred. Education and a better upbringing is as much important for women as far as men.

Therefore Hafsa Girls college is established to meet the needs of this field by the hands of Maulana Syed Salman Husaini Nadwi and is engaged in adorning the female wing of the Muslim society with Islamic sciences and culture. The foundation stone was laid by the hands of the Late Maulana Syed Abul Hasan Ali Al-Hasani Al-Nadvi. By the grace of Allah the college is going on, in a well-maintained way from its opening day to this day. It is hoped that it would meet a great need of Muslim society.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COLLEGE

  • To adorn the girls with Islamic culture, morals and ways of life.
  • To provide girls a good educational system consisting of primary, secondary and higher level in Islamic sciences along with main stream subjects.
  • To make the college a better place for Islamic learning for the girl students in this region.
  • To save the girls from immorality and ignorance.
  • To save the girls from western culture and create in them the sprit of Dawah and reformation through Islamic education and Dawah activities.
  • To adorn the girls with home-sciences and social work.

Courses of the college

  • Students are given instructions in fundamentals of the Islamic faith, basic grammar of the Arabic language and other religious subjects, simultaneously, the main stream subjects are the important constituent of the syllabus pursued at the stage.
  • The next stage of the College educational programme is termed as Alimiat. During this stage the subjects taught are: the study of the Quranic text with the help of the commentaries thereon, the hadith & the principles of the Hadith, Islamic Jurisprudence & the Principles of Islamic jurisprudence, Arabic language and literature, Urdu language and literature, Islamic and the world history, and social sciences. The successful completion the course entitles the students obtain the degree of the Alima.

To cut the long story short, the educational programme of the college is indeed a rare composite of Islamic as well as modern learning. By its nature, such a comprehensive programme is rightly expected to make a Muslim woman lead a purposeful Islamic-oriented life, meeting successfully the modern challenges of life.

Cultural activities of the girls

01. Association of Arabic Language: It is an Arabic association of the girls that holds Arabic speaking and writing weekly and monthly programmes to enable the girl to speak and write the Arabic language fluently

02. Association of Urdu Language: from the stage of this association, the girl practice oratory and writing in Urdu Language, so that they could represent Islam orally as well as writtenly.

03. Sports: It is Islam that pays attention to the health of human being alongwith beliefs and religious life. Playing and taking part in sports also plays a good role to maintain a good health. The college, therefore, paid particular attention to the sports and has a big ground for this purpose and physical exercise.

Library

For any educational institution, library has a great importance to improve the skills and abilities of the students. The college has a library in its compound, but it needs more books to fulfill the needs of the girls and to make the study good and wide.

Number of Staff and students


There are above five hundred girls in the college. Three hundred eighty five of them reside at the college, they are provided lodging and fooding with other facilities, while the remaining make daily up and down journey to the college. The college has a staff of above twenty five persons, ten of them are female teachers.
