In the thirteenth century, when the Mugal Empire was declining, Muslims were losing their spiritual power and adopting non-Islamic beliefs and customs. It seemed that they would perish in a period of time. In the meantime an Islamic hero with Islamic sprit, faith and courage came to the sight who called Muslims to the way of Allah; remind them their responsibility towards Islam and Muslins. He trained people and prepared a big team of his followers who repeated the history of revival and reformation. He fought with British to make his native land India free and independent. He got his aim, martyrdom and left his footprints for the coming generations. This towering personality was a great freedom fighter and reformist, known in the history as Syed Ahmad Shaheed Rae Barelwi (R.A).
The Jamia has been named after that Islamic hero to revive his reformation and revival movement.
Jamia Syed Ahmad Shaheed was established under the educational programme of the Jamiat-U-Shabab-il-Islam duly registered by Government of Uttar Pradesh, India as a religious and educational organization in 27-01-1988 Registration no. 2361/1987-1988
Jamia Syed Ahmad Shaheed has a wide perspective. Jamia is an Arabic word used as a synonyme for Islamic University. A university that would be a combination of Islamic and modern sciences as the universities of Islamic countries. It would have the colleges of modern sciences like medical college, agricultural college, science college and the college of languages along with Shariat college, primary section, Darut Tahfeez, Darul Ifta and other departments of Islamic sciences at one place. A university that would represent a real Islamic educational system and prove that Islam is not a barrier in the way of modern sciences.
In this perspective Jamia has been founded and Al-Hamdulillah it has achieved many of its goals till this date. We hope that, by the grace of Allah, the remaining would come into being in a nearby future.
The aims and objectives of the Jamia with education, training and call to the way of Allah are as follows.
